Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual celebration in about 200 countries to propagate Free and Open Source philosophy.
In the Philippines, the Computer Professionals’ Union (CPU) has lead and organized SFD since 2004. CPU has connected a hundred volunteers, open/free software advocates and developers. CPU has introduced to hundreds of students and enthusiasts the ideals and benefits of free and open source software on this yearly event. SFD 2008 will be celebrated on 20 September 2008.
